Professional Development

What is professional development?

Professional development can be challenging. Whether you are transitioning from education to permanent work, apprenticeships, making career moves or starting your own business. It is full of goals, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges.

The real question is how do you want to progress in your team or company?

Understanding yourself is one of the hardest talents in life, as we are constantly surprising and questioning ourselves.

Areas of professional development can be:

  • Communication skills

    • Listening

    • Speaking (in person, meetings and phone)

    • Writing

  • Interviews

  • Managing deadlines

  • Working SMART

  • Motivation

  • Reducing Procrastination

  • Increasing Productivity

  • Strategies

  • Goal setting

  • Working under pressure

  • Confidence / Self esteem

  • Pitching ideas

  • Time management

  • Life / work balance

  • Self discipline

  • Public Speaking

  • Adapting to change

How we can help...

ASK Ash Coaching utilises NLP, Hypnotherapy and Walking therapy to understand the root causes of any professional development areas, so we can tackle the source and not just the symptoms.

We're not born with self limiting beliefs. These beliefs, like all our beliefs are developed over time, through people and experiences influencing our lives in both negative and positive ways.

The ability to thrive in life is to be adaptable, this can only be achieved through self discovery.

Here are few examples of some of the techniques we use to overcome anxiety and stress. Each session(s) are bespoke to the individual.

Perceptional Positions

  • This technique is particularly good for interviewing (for both interviewer and interviewee). It allows an individual to move in and out of the following positions:

  • Position 1 - Self (own eyes)

  • Position 2 - Another (Someone else's eyes)

  • Position 3 - Guru (Fly on the wall)

  • Moving through each position you can gain incredible insights to yourself, others and a higher point of view, so the entire picture is clear.

  • Improving communications both verbally and non-verbally.

GROW Model

  • Grow

  • Reality

  • Options

  • Will

We will work through each phase together to raise self awareness and understand aspirations, current beliefs and situations. What is possible, with resources available and actions required to achieve the goals.

Cartesian Logic

  • These are a series of questions designed to establish a clear picture of a given situation. The questions allow looking at the situation from four different angles so the decision making process is easier, allowing you to see the pros and cons.

Value setting

  • Values drive behaviour. So, this exercise is designed to stretch your understanding of self.

  • This process looks at  motivation, value thresholds and prioritisation.

  • Also looks at the individual core needs
